Zip Lines For Backyards
You want the best of all the zip lines for backyards?
Well it does take a little engineering. That is only if you want the best of zip lines for backyards.
My buddy and I actually created an amazing zip line for our backyard. I’ll tell you how we did it.
It all started with bringing a bunch of rope up a tree. I had no plans for a zip line at all, I just wanted a hammock in
a tree. So I began to build by tying ropes to the tree to make it easier to climb. The next thing I knew I had found an old soccer net that was in pretty good condition.
So I got a whole lot more rope and figured out what I should do with this soccer net. I fastened and the net around the tree and made an amazing place for people to hang out at. It fits about four or five people pretty well, it’s sturdy and about 40 feet off the ground.
Creating zip lines for backyards was the last thing on my mind at this point. I was just so thrilled to have an amazing spot up in the tree.

But for some reason humans don’t seem to be satisfied even after a huge accomplishment. So what did I do? I got more rope and found a higher tree.
I basically decided that I wanted the same thing but way way taller. Creating zip lines for backyards still was not on my mind. But after about six months of climbing a ridiculous tree, tying off the ropes in awkward places and risking death or multiple fractures through a 75 foot fall,I had finally done it.
I now have a perch that was pushing 80 feet up in the air and overlooked the beautiful forest around me. I truly had a dedicated nest of solitude. I spent hours and hours here just appreciating life and expanding my mind. That’s when I realized that the original tree fort was just a little under 200 feet away.
That’s when it hit me and I started thinking about zip lines for backyards.
I started looking on craigslist like a crazy man for steel cable. After about three weeks of searching I found a guy who lived about 45 minutes away who had 280 feet of 5/16 galvanized steel cable. I paid the guy 40 bucks,I also bought cable clamps and some extra rope so the cost of my zip line ended up being roughly $60.
Then began the construction of the ultimate of zip lines for backyards. We had to get a rope cross first which was very difficult because of all the trees and branches that were roughly 40 to 50 feet high. After months of scrambling we finally managed to get the steel cable across. Then we secured it with steel cable clamps. Then using a pork chop and come along we put tension on the steel cable and repositioned the cable clamps.

Finally came the tests to see if we truly had created one of the best zip lines for backyards. I climbed up the tall tree with my harness on attached to my lanyard with zip line trolley.
My heart racing I took a leap of faith and the zip line caught me and took me full speed through the canopy.
As amazing as it was I hit many branches and it hurt really bad. So now we’re in the middle of getting rid of all the branches that hurt really bad and then our ultimate of zip lines for backyards will be super operational and flawless.
